Silver Sparkles

A lot of sparkle and a fun lipstick are my go to accessories when getting ready. This jewel collared shirt has quickly become a staple for me, its an easy piece to dress up or down wearing it under a simple dress or even fun to layer with a t-shirt you really cannot go wrong. To finish off my look I used a bright pink lipstick, a friends mother once told me you can look put together as long as you have your lipstick on- that is a truth I have never forgotten.

Rainy Day

Rainy days in Minnesota can be cold and dreary. On those days I always gravitate towards wearing something comfy, colorful, and warm. My go to outfit for this kind of weather is my rain boots, a fun sweater, a warm scarf, and a colorful handbag. I have learned that even if the weather is less than ideal, your outfit can still be bright and uplifting!

Pretty in Plaid

 

This is one of my favorite spring/summer dresses, its make me want to go on a picnic and read a book outside. I found the dress on sale while browsing the Land's End website, sadly my size was sold out but I just could not give up on the dress. A few weeks later I decided to expand my reach by searching eBay and low and behold I found the dress... in my size.. for $14!

Fall Wedding in Minnesota {Lifestyle}

In late September I was blessed to be able to travel home to MN for my friend Katie's wedding. It was a beautiful fall day and an even more beautiful wedding. Living in Seattle it's so important to make decisions to travel home for special events like this. Nevertheless, I was so happy to share in her special day.

Cousins

Welcome to A&L

Welcome to A & L! Angela and I are cousins and best friends who wanted to create this blog to showcase our love for {affordable} fashion and our love for the little things in our everyday life.

Growing up in a close knit extended family, Angela and I spent a lot of time together. As little girls we invented “Pretty Girls”, the act of dressing up in beautiful dress up clothes {primarily found at garage sales}, including pretty jewels and high heels of course. After dressing our best, we would pack the rest of our gorgeous things for our grand adventure. Destinations would include the Caribbean, Europe, and the ever popular Florida vacation!

Our love for the pretty things in life has continued as we share a love for fashion, home interiors, DIY projects, and cooking/baking. This blog is meant to keep us close despite our physical distance (I live in Seattle and Angela lives in Minneapolis) and to showcase the pretty things that we find in the world around us.
