If there is one thing I can't get enough of lately it's silk. I have been craving a simplicity in my dressing and silk seems to fulfill those simplicity needs. I've done a bit of research and here are a few favorites.

Grana - Amazing selection and even better price points. I want this tank in every color.

Everlane- This dress has rocked my world.

Joe Fresh - I snatched up a few of these button downs and so far I'm really impressed with the quality. I now have my eye on this tunic also on sale.

Equipment- Although a little pricier then my first few options I would love to invest in one of their slim signature shirts in a neutral. Something I don't doubt I would have forever. 

J.Crew - These tanks are buttery soft and I love the racer-back detail.

When I think about Minnesota summers the thing that immediately comes into mind is summer getaways at the cabin. There is nothing better than boating, relaxing, cooking, fishing, sleeping, hiking, and laughing with your loved ones up north in the Lord's beautiful creation. Our cabin is up near Canada and we love to get away from it all. This weekend I am heading up to my friends' cabin for a girls weekend and I couldn't be more excited. Cabins in the summer are definitely one of my all time favorite things ;) Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

The Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale is on with great deals on spring and summer clothes, shoes, and handbags. I have picked out a few of my favorite pieces here - I especially love the striped dress! Have you seen the women's line from Hanna Andersson? I stumbled upon it through Brittany's blog 'The House that Lars Built.' She styled the pieces beautifully and I was shocked to find that everything she was wearing was Hanna Andersson. I was a huge fan of the brand when I was younger (or my mom was a huge fan of dressing me in Hanna) so I was thrilled to see such cute staples for women. I thought I would share the love and pass on these fun basics for summer. My favorites are the stripped shirt dress and the chambray jumpsuit! I can see myself living in those pieces this summer.

I am so excited to be showcasing one of my favorite local shops today on A&L. The Foundry Home Goods, located in the North Loop of Minneapolis, is the most gorgeous home goods store I have ever been in. The shop is filled with beautiful, simple, unique pieces that are useful in your home. I love that I am taken back to my Swedish roots as I peruse the Swedish vegetable brushes and local homemade beeswax candles (my absolute favorite). I have my eye on the Japanese brass flatware - it is stunning. I hope you have a wonderful weekend everyone!

This year I have been talking a lot about getting back to basics and focusing on curating a wardrobe of classic, wear forever pieces. Well I'm practicing what I'm preaching and have started the journey of pairing down my closet. I was inspired by a few things but I think the main reason is I just want less STUFF. Cuyana's featured blog series was also a great kick starter with direction on creating your own 'lean' closet or capsule wardrobe. I think these fun and approachable tools makes the over all process enjoyable.

Things to think about before adding to your wardrobe:

  1) Can I wear this in at least three different ways (absolute min) 2) Is this something I can see in my wardrobe for years to come? (ie- I have the perfect Lilly Pulitzer dress last seen here, now this is something I will hang on to forever- I can see it being such a fun vintage piece some day). 3) Fit! I have made this mistake too many times! Only buy something if its a perfect 10, there is no room for a  6 hanging in your closet.

I am so excited to be showcasing Great Lakes Collection today, as one of my favorite things. P and I absolutely love their style and aesthetic for clothing and accessories for life on the lake. Which, if you live in Minnesota is pretty much how you spend your summer days :) P surprised me with the hat a couple weeks ago and it is a great new favorite. I'm sharing my love for Truffle pouches today. Seriously, they are the handiest little things. I originally purchased mine with the intent to use it for travel but quickly found a need for it on a daily basis. I love having all the little things in my purse nicely stored and most importantly easy to find. I also found that they make it a lot easier to transition from handbag to handbag and are a dream when using a clutch! Everything is neatly secured and perfectly organized! The fact that they are adorable doesn't hurt either.

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you have had a wonderful week. It has been a long one for me, so I am looking forward to the weekend. I am so excited to be sharing my love of the Clarisonic with you all because it has completely changed my face. I have always been blessed with great skin, but over the past couple years I have been observing changes in my skin. I always felt like my pores were clogged and I couldn't get them cleaned, and eventually breakouts where inevitable. I recently shared my love of La Mer products (completely life changing and worth every penny), and paired with the Clarisonic I can't imagine a better combination. I use my Clarisonic every evening with LaMer's cleanser. I am sharing my entire beauty routine soon, so stay tuned :) The results have been staggering - my face is completely clear and I rarely get a break out. My face has never felt better! I'm sure we can all agree that winter is brutal on your hands. My go to product for fighting cracked hands and nail beds is AVEDA's Hand Relief - I have been using it for years and its the only hand cream that feels so nourishing to my sore hands. It's totally worth the $24 price tag!

Happy Friday everyone! L and I hope that you have had a great week and are ready to gear up for the weekend; we sure are. It has been crazy cold here in MN - I even had a day off of school this week due to extreme, below zero temperatures, so I'm not complaining :) Today we are showcasing one of our favorite boots...our tried and true Hunters! L and I can't get enough of these rain boots. They are what you call practical fashion :) Hunters take us to the office, on errands, hiking up north, and potentially even out to dinner (yes, that has happened to me recently). They are perfect for those rainy Seattle days and for the days when the snow is wet here in Minnesota! Nordies has a fabulous selection. Happy weekend.
