Pineapple

Happy Monday Everyone!

I've been dying over this pineapple top I found at the adorable Queen Anne Dispatch- a local boutique in Seattle (see link below to buy online). I not only love the print and the price of the top (under $50) but the back is what ultimately sold me. The split back detail of this shirt creates an effortlessly feminine feel. It can easily be worn with little fuss - I love throwing it on with a pair of pants and some fun sandals for a carefree summer look.

Favorite Things Friday

For the past couple years I have been in love with gloMinerals makeup, a brand that prides itself on using mineral formulations to protect and heal skin, while offering flawless coverage and fabulous color palettes. This is the makeup I used on my wedding day and continues to be a daily favorite of mine. I recently realized they sell it at my dermatologist also, which encourages my love for these products. The camouflage for hiding blemishes and the under-eye concealer are two of my favorites. I also love the illuminator, pressed base and the bronzer. The thing I love the most about this makeup is that it provides great coverage and lasts all day long! I can't say enough great things, it truly is one of my favorites! Happy Friday everyone.

How to Display Wedding Keepsakes Part 1 {DIY}

P and I absolutely loved our wedding day, because it clearly represented us as a couple but also because of all of the small and special moments that occurred throughout the day. My mom took the handkerchief that she used in her wedding and hand stitched an A on it with blush flowers (my wedding colors), along with a locket from Tiffany's, my "something blue" (which I now wear on a dainty long chain). This handkerchief means so much to me and I have always wanted to display it in a special place in our home. After our wedding we were left with many special items and memories from our day and we weren't exactly sure how to hold on to them and how to showcase them. This will be the beginning of a mini-series on how to display keepsakes from your wedding in a way that is beautiful and timeless.

I decided to purchase a pretty and modern frame from West Elm to showcase my handkerchief. It is a new favorite item on my desk. Every time I look at it I am reminded of my wedding day and the special relationship I have with my mom.

Affordable Artwork {Home}

 I have an ongoing goal for myself to buy, frame, and hang more artwork in our apartment. Because my budget doesn't allow me to buy originals I have found less expensive prints from artists that I love. I also try to find artwork when I'm traveling. While in Alaska my mother in law and I stumbled upon a small art gallery selling local artist's work. It was such a fun experience to pick something out and have a memory from our trip hanging on the wall to look at every day. The prints above are just glimpse into what I look for when picking out art. I love color and phrases but my ultimate motto is to buy what you LOVE.

Cabin Getaway with Friends {Lifestyle}

This past weekend, P and I had the opportunity to head up north to my parents lake home near Canada with our dear friends. We spent the weekend relaxing, chatting, enjoying good food and drinks, hiking, sunbathing, and enjoying God's beautiful creation. This is our favorite place in the world and it was such a wonderful and much needed time away.

Oui Mon Cheri

Who else is loving J. Crew's sweatshirts? I have never been a sweatshirt kind of person, even in college I would typically just wear them around the dorm or to bed as they never made me feel very put together. Imagine my surprise when J. Crew started making "cute" sweatshirts, now I know their version of a sweatshirt is more fitted and embellished with fun sayings or jewels but still they are soft, comfortable, and at the end of the day still a sweatshirt! I love A's post on her J. Crew sweatshirt found here. She describes the endless styling options and I could not agree more! Here are a few others I have been eyeing, check them out here and here

Favorite Things Friday

I'm in love with my Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip crossbody bag! It's hard to believe I haven't featured it sooner as one of my favorite things. The versatility makes it a great investment piece,  it easily transitions from day to night and can be used as both a crossbody bag and a clutch.  I have frequently featured this handbag on A&L because it goes with almost everything in my wardrobe. Whats your favorite "can't live without" handbag?
