Homemade Passion Iced Tea Lemonade {Food}

Warm summer days call for a cool glass of iced tea. I grew up in a home where my mom was always making sun tea in the summer and even more so on our long weekends up north. P and I recently discovered a new flavor of tea, pomegranate green tea, that creates an iced tea that tastes like the passion iced tea from Starbucks (one of my indulgences). Adding in a good lemonade and you have created the infamous and yummy "passion iced tea lemonade" in your home! I am so excited about this recipe and cannot wait to share it with you!

: : Ingredients : :

8-10 pomegranate green tea bags (we prefer The Republic of Tea brand)
1 glass jar, gallon size (mine is an antique one from my aunt, look for one at a garage sale)
Good lemonade (we prefer the Simply brand)
Sun

: : Recipe : :

Fill your glass gallon jar with water and add in 8-10 tea bags. Place outside in a spot where there will be intense sun; you can always move it to sunnier locations at the day progresses if needed. I leave it outside for 5-8 hours, but you can do less if you prefer less strength of flavor in your tea.

The tea will taste less mellow (and I think sweeter) than if you would boil water and then create iced tea. The slow seeping brings out a slightly different flavor in the tea.

After your desired length of time, bring the tea inside and take out the tea bags. Refrigerate the sun tea.

Get a large glass of ice and fill about 3/4 of the glass with sun tea. Add in the lemonade.

You could also enjoy the sun tea solo and add in fresh mint or lime.

Serve with a fun straw and enjoy!

With Love,
A
