You Are the Light of the World {Lifestyle}

I feel incredibly blessed to be a third grade teacher. Each day consists of fun and sweet moments with awesome kids! One of my favorite things to do is get my classroom ready each year for my incoming third graders. We do classroom themes at my school, and I have been waiting to do an up north/camping theme since I started teaching three years ago. I combined the verse in Matthew where the Lord calls his people His lights in the world, with mason jars, lightning bugs, and all things camping. I hope you enjoy! Here's to another school year!

Bookcase Styling {Home}

Ever since B and I purchased our Craigslist bookcase I have been eager to get it styles. Fortunately, I have a few things I've started furnishing it with, but with five shelves to fill I needed additional inspiration. I love the idea of mixing books, keepsakes, trinkets, trays, boxes, frames and bookends together on each shelf - creating a space you truly love with items you cherish and want to showcase. I hope you find some inspiration! For more ideas check out our newly added Pinterest board

Favorite Things Friday

In honor of New York Fashion Week I'm sharing some favorite 'street style' looks. Personal style is something I admire, I especially appreciate the carefully crafted (yet seem effortless) looks that are out in full force over Fashion Week. These looks are also a great source for inspiration!

First Day of School

I feel so blessed to be a third grade teacher. My precious students bring me so much joy, laughter, and energy each and every day. Today I am showcasing my first day of school outfit (switching in skinny jeans in place of black crop dress pants). I love this new plaid button up from J.Crew - I have paired it with everything from a colored pencil skirt or colored jeans, to black pants for work. It is my new favorite staple piece. And my cotton, blush blazer is a recent steal from H&M. Happy back to school everyone!

Back to Classic

I've lately been inspired by classic neutrals and getting back to the basics in my wardrobe. This season I'm trying to focus my attention on investment pieces to really build a strong wardrobe for mixing and matching with ease. I've pulled together some great pieces that are perfect for the upcoming season!

San Diego Getaway {Lifestyle}

This past weekend P and I, along with my dear friend, headed out west to San Diego for our college friends' wedding. It was a wonderful long weekend full of sunshine, waves, good friends, and celebration as two wonderful people became one in marriage - we could not be happier for them. P and I fell in love with the San Diego area, enjoying yummy meals out, hiking, relaxing on the beach, and exploring wine country in Temecula. My third grade kiddos start today, so this trip was a perfect way to unwind and getaway before another school year begins!

Neon's & Neutral's

I hope you are enjoying the extended weekend and soaking up the last bits of summer. As you can tell from my last post here I'm anxiously awaiting some cooler temp but with that being said I broke out my neon for a little summer farewell. I purchased this top on major sale and have been surprised by the versatility of it. I love pairing it with a neutral pant in black or denim to accentuate the color and also the flared shape. For a dressier look I tucked it into my navy midi skirt. I love when a sale purchase turns into a go to piece, that is when you know you really scored.
