Crisp Blue Button Down

On what seems to be a never ending list of "must haves" I deem the crisp blue button down as an essential to add to your closet this Fall. Think of it as a go with everything staple and can take over when your chambray is in the laundry. I've spotted a few already and I can't wait to get my hands on one. 

The styling is pretty simple in these lovely street style photo's but just the other day I spotted a gal rocking her button down with an army green vest and a pleated midi skirt! I promptly bought this Madewell over-sized vest to try and recreate the look!

Fall is on my mind as the first glimpse of new arrivals filter into store fronts. I could not be more excited about the 70’s vibe of classic yet still on trend pieces. I’m pretty smitten with this midi denim skirt from Madewell and couldn’t resist pairing it with clogs! These items are on the top of my list for Fall must haves. I’m also craving a pair of flares! Luxe List

I love browsing Instagram for new brands and discovering best kept secrets. I recently stumbled across one of Carin Olsson author of Paris in four Months Instagram picture and could not take my eyes off her beautiful flats. Because Instagram lets you link other users in photo's it was easy to find the brand. Thus I discovered the beauty of Josefinas. These are a worthy investment piece in my book!

Ever since seeing the Tibi off the shoulder tunic I was smitten, but that price tag YIKES! I was shocked (in a great way) to see such a close replica in Zara's new arrivals. I will be ordering it pronto along with these pretty little flat sandals that are apart of the summer sale.

I've been taking a liking to fringe as of late, it feels boho chic in a very effortless sort of way. The  fringe really speaks for itself. Summer Reading List

Remember the years of summer reading lists and reading contests at the library? Summer helps inspires me to  take some time away from 'screens' and immerse myself in a good book! I've been on a huge reading kick and thought it would be fun to share a few of my recent favorites. If you are looking for a easy summer read any of the top three is sure to please. 

Sisterhood Everlasting - Hello! There is a 5th book- a conclusion if you will, to the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Series. Have a box of tissue near because you will be using them for both happy and sad tears! 

The Girl on the Train - I know at this point you have hear everything there is to know about this novel but seriously its just that good. I'm listing it as a favorite to continue to spread the word! Keeps you guessing and entertained all the way to the end. 

The Knockoff - I fell in love with this book from page one! So current, witty, and smart. Imogen (my favorite character) is a pure delight. Whereas Eve has you curing the millennial name.

I'm starting a new series that encompasses a few of my favorite things. The first of course being shopping the second, sharing those treasures with you and third, feeling inspired!

I thought I would share a round up of some of my favorite classic pieces from around the web. Every item listed is under $100 but with some savvy shopping you should be able to get them for even less. Banana Republic, Gap, J.Crew, and LOFT are always running additional 25-40% off sales so you are  likely to scoop up some of these classics for excellent prices. Savvy shopping is a must when working with a budget but make sure to keep a running list of needs so sales shopping doesn't leave you with a bunch of random and ill fitting pieces.

White Dress Favorites

Ever since finding this beautiful white number I've been on the hunt for the perfect white dress. I'm naturally looking for one at a more reasonable price point. I fell in love with this classic shirt dress but I'm so smitten for this eyelet number with the navy flower details! My favorite part about these lovely dresses is they are all 100% cotton. If you are working with a budget (aren't we all!) make sure to check the composition of the garment you're eyeing. A natural fiber typically looks more expensive and is more likely to stay intact for multiple seasons. Happy shopping and happy spring time.

Thoughtful Savvy Shopping

I've been thinking a lot about simplifying my wardrobe this year. Not only streamlining my current closet but also being extremely selective in what I allow myself to purchase. This is important due to some new financial goals my hubby and I have set {here's to getting rid of that pesky student debt once and for all!} more on that a little later. Budget aside I've decided that its important to LOVE every item you own! Why waste space and money on anything less than a '10'. Right? 

Here's my Lucky 13 must have closet staples. I'm sure you can already check some things off your list. My focus this year is to build a wardrobe that compliments itself, purchasing items I can wear through multiple seasons. So often I make impulse sale purchases that although, are a good deal only are worn a handful of times. 

Here's to a new year, a new perspective, and buying those wish list items we know we will love forever even if it means saving up for them and resisting a sale!
