Fall Floral's

Happy Monday! It indeed feels very happy especially since its a short week!

Since the holiday season officially starts on Thursday- happy early Thanksgiving. I thought it would be fun to start showcasing some festive looks. I love breaking out my fall/winter skirts and playing around with new styling. I'm especially fond of this neutral floral print, its a J.Crew piece that I've had forever and can't seem to part with it. I love the A-line silhouette and the neutral print makes it easy to pair pieces with. This would be perfect for Thanksgiving with the family, equal parts dressy and casual! I hope you have a wonderful holiday!

How to Cook Roasted Butternut Squash {Food}

Butternut squash is something that I have been dying to prepare and cook myself, as opposed to buying pre-cut butternut squash chunks from Whole Foods or Lunds. Not only is that more expensive, but I love learning how to do things myself. I have been a bit intimidated by butternut squash in the past, but this fall I decided to tackle it. The result was delicious, roasted, savory squash in bite-size pieces, with a little crunch on the outside! P and I can't get enough of this easy and healthy side dish! It would be a perfect addition to your Thanksgiving table as well. Happy cooking!

:: Ingredients ::

1 medium butternut squash (about 2 pounds)
Extra-virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper

:: Recipe ::

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

Halve the squash lengthwise. Using a spoon, empty out the the pulp and seeds.

Cut the squash into chunks (about 1 inch cubes), carefully cutting away the outside skin.

Transfer the cubes to a large, rimmed baking sheet. Toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Lay out in a single layer.

Roast, tossing occasionally, for 30 minutes.

Vintage Fair Isles

I am so excited to share today's look with you all because it is so dear to my heart. Not only was it shot at my favorite place in the world, but this vintage fair isles sweater belonged to my sweet grandma when she was my age. Even though I did not get to really know her before she got sick, the stories I have heard make me wish I did all the more. I can't wait to pair it with a pencil skirt or my favorite pair of jeans. Here's to the season of sweaters and egg nog...it's coming :)

Day 17 'Fall Essentials Challenge'

The colors here in Minnesota have been the most beautiful I can ever remember, which has called for extra long walks and runs lately! It has been an awesome fall and we are enjoying every minute of it. Our closet challenge has really caused me to re-think the clothes in my closet and to mix and match in new and innovative ways. Thinking up new combos has been so fun! I urge you to take a step back this week and think about how you can make new outfits with what you already have in your closet!

Bouquets of Sharpened Pencils

Fall is in the air and I couldn't be more excited! Every year as the summer starts to wind down I have a nostalgic feeling towards going back to school. Although, I haven't been a student for some time I continue to follow the September through May "school scheduled" and around this time I'm craving the thought of getting back into a routine. With the thought and feeling of fall on my mind I couldn't help but break out a few layers that are bound to be staples in my closet this season. I'm especially thrilled with the "endless" shirt I picked up at J. Crew, I've been missing a crisp white shirt in my wardrobe for some time now and was excited to see a modern take on such a classic item.

The title of this post comes from one of my favorite movies... can you guess the movie? I watch it every Fall as it seems to get me in a "fall" state of mind.
