Seersucker

It's that time of year when I get to pull out my trusty seersucker trousers! I've been holding onto this wide leg version circa 2007 from J.Crew because whenever I'm having a 'I have nothing to wear day' these pants are just the trick. Any seasonal wardrobe staple you get excited to pull out year after year?

Simple Spring

I absolutely love dressing for this milder, warmer weather; everything is just easier. Today's look is something that I gravitate towards on those days when I just want to be comfy, but look put together. The beauty of investing in timeless basics is that they will stand the test of time and always look great when you pull them out of the closet, even years later, and can be jazzed up with jewelry and accessories when needed. White + Stripes

I've decided you can never have too many stripes in your wardrobe. I never pass up the opportunity to add this classic to my closet because although, I maybe have one too many in navy and white I never fail to wear them at least twice a week. They are the most practical staple! I will note I tend to gravitate towards the ultra classic colors - navy + white, red + white, black + white. I'm dreaming of this tee as my next stripe purchase it would be perfect for summer.... any closet staples you let yourself have multiple of because of the wear they endure?

Out & About

P and I had a wonderful long weekend celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus with our loved ones. We had our annual Easter egg hunt at my parents' house with my extended family and then were able to see both of our families on Easter, eating the traditional ham and cheesy potatoes and just enjoying one another's company. P and I were also able to tackle a ton of projects around the house. I went through my closet and have quite a few bags ready to donate. I really tried to focus on only keeping what I love and what I actually wear; I got rid of the rest. I went through every nook and cranny of our house and purged as well - organizing and cleaning. It feels great to head back to work today knowing that my spring house projects are complete. I am ready to soak up the last weeks of the school year with my kiddos! Blessings to you all today.

Spring has Sprung

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend. This was the look I wore to church and  out to brunch. Although, it was a little cool I still managed with open toe shoes and a dress. It was Easter after all so dresses and pastels were a must! I recently picked up this classic white shirt dress at the LOFT (scoring it at 50% off) the simplicity of it is perfect for mixing and matching. I plan on living in it this summer whether to work or more casually on the weekends it's perfect 'classic' to add to my streamlined wardrobe.

Spring Pastels

I am so excited to be back posting on A&L. P and I had an amazing time in the British Virgin Islands sailing, exploring, and just enjoying each other (post with photos coming soon). But I do have to admit the transition back has been hard and I always get so sentimental upon returning from vacations :) But spring is in the air, even amidst the snow, and I am looking forward to the weeks ahead. This look is a perfect look for a more casual day at work or going out for dinner on the weekends. There is just something about wearing pastels in the spring!
