Day 15 'Fall Essentials Challenge'

The weather has been beautiful here in Minnesota. P and I have been enjoying long runs along the river and afternoons relaxing in the sun (very unlike typical Minnesota Octobers). I love today's pairing - a plaid shirt with a simple black work dress. The plaid adds a little something to an otherwise simple look. 

It was so fun to shoot with my sister-in-law Colleen. She is a talented photographer and I got spoiled with her nice camera! Happy Tuesday everyone!

Day 14 'Fall Essentials Challenge'

Monday always seems to come one day too soon, especially when you had a perfect weekend! Who's with me?

A and I are over half way through our 23 day challenge and although I love mixing and matching my wardrobe, using only 23 pieces in order to do it has in fact been a challenge. I've had to get creative in my mixing and I've grown to love the look of a sweater (mine is cropped but I love the idea of an over sized one as well) over a dress. My favorite part about this look is the way the sweater plays down the dress making it a super comfy weekend look.

Julep Nail Color {Giveaway}

Day 12 'Fall Essentials Challenge'

I love the deep, warm hues of fall - mustard, wine, navy, forest green. This skirt has been in my closet for years but is a still a fun basic I reach for often during the cooler months. I love it paired with this oversized sweater . The proportions of the big sweater on top fits perfectly with the more form fitting pencil skirt on the bottom. Happy Thursday everyone!

Day 11 'Fall Essentials Challenge'

The 'Holy Chic' tee is back and let me tell you the price per wear of this shirt had been phenomenal (now just $7.50)! Its actually got me thinking more an more about the ever popular graphic tee and how such a simple and inexpensive piece can be such a game changer in a look. My look today is very casual but with a clean pair of jeans, heels, and a blazer this tee easily takes you into a night on the town. Check out some of my favorite graphic tees here, here, and here.

Day 10 'Fall Essentials Challenge'

I love this outfit because it balances simple, classic pieces with those that are more trendy and fashion forward. This challenge has helped me to appreciate my classics once again :) A black trench coat, a great pair of skinny jeans, and black booties are great staples for any wardrobe. The plaid scarf and polka dot sweater add that pizzaz! How are you mixing classic and trendy?

Day 9 'Fall Essentials Challenge'

Happy Monday! I hope you had a fabulous weekend, I sure did! My Mom and Sis came to town for a long weekend and we had an incredible time. It was a sad Sunday morning having to drive them to the airport but I could not have asked for a better 3 fun filled days!

I'm excited to finally incorporate some color into my 23 day challenge. This skirt has always been a favorite of mine - I love the A-Line quality as well and the full skirt and textured material. The fact that its a pretty geranium red and still very versatile is a bonus. I've actually been very attracted to the fuller bell skirt as of late, check out some of my favorites here, here, and here. I love how easy it is to obtain an all over feminine look with just one piece.  I highly recommend adding this silhouette to your wardrobe - trust me, you won't be disappointed with its versatility!
